Viking P.R.I.D.E. is a school-wide system and students are expected to show their P.R.I.D.E. at all times in all areas of the school.
If a student
is having difficulty following expectations, they will first be reminded with a
quiet signal. If that does not help correct
the behavior, they will get a verbal reminder.
If that still does not help, they will be sent to the “Reset Table” where they will have an opportunity to reflect and think
about how to change their behavior. I will reteach the expectation to them so
they can give it a try. If the reset does not work, a minor slip will be written to document the behavior and parents will
be contacted. If a student receives 3 minor slips for the same behavior within
a month’s time, a major slip will be filled
out and sent to the office. A conference may be arranged with parents, teacher,
and administrator to develop a plan to change the behavior and help that
student have success so that they are ready to learn.
